Overactive Bladder
There is nothing worse than the overpowering need to go the bathroom at the most inconvenient times. It never fails does it, you always have to go when there is not a bathroom within 300 feet. Living with an over active bladder prevents you from being able to do certain things that you have enjoyed for many years, such as hiking or taking a long Sunday drive down to the water.
You don’t have suffer with an over active bladder, there are things that you can do that will help to improve the very frustrating need to run to the bathroom, or deal with the embarrassing leakage.
An over active bladder is the cause of a weak PC muscle, and if you begin doing some exercises you can strengthen this muscle. This exercise is easy to do, and you can do it anywhere you want when ever you want and nobody will even know that you are doing it. The PC muscle is the muscle that controls the flow of your urine. So the next time you go to the bathroom, which will probably be very shortly you should stop the flow of urine. This is the PC muscle flex, or the kegel exercise that you will need to begin doing.
Because you have an over active bladder you might only want to perform this exercise when you are going to the bathroom it will reduce the risk of any leakage of urine coming out.
Of course there are some medications that you an begin taking that will help your over active bladder, but if you are able to improve your condition without the need of medicine than why wouldn’t you.
You should definitely talk to your doctor about the kegel exercises, and how it will benefit your condition. Taking medicine might be your only option right now if your condition is severe. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t do these kegel exercises while you are taking the medicine, it will help to strengthen your muscle and you never know you can improve your condition.
